Pretty Things (Demo)

from Sundry Demos by Lounna

lyrics

we collect pretty things
like the sea collects catastrophes
pearls and diamonds suffocate our hearts
until we forget that we've ever been scarred
glass and silver embellish these halls
to cover up the writing on the walls

we collect tall trophies
like the earth collects old memories
chandeliers that hang above our heads
are shadowing the ghosts under our beds
silk and lace behind the closet door
will distract from the skeletons we've stored

we collect pretty things
and like the sea, we collect catastrophes
yes we've all made our homes
amongst such delicacies,
but in the end we will all die alone
