It's been a long time coming and you've been calling day and night 'Cause I've been wanderin' with the wolves before light and the stories they've told me left me stone blind I've spent all of my time running and while the ties were fraying, I should have known 'cause when the roads are flooding, they tell you not to go But if I'm gone already, how do I get back home? How do I get back home? I was lonesome every step of the way How the forest thickened on every path that I came I was hoping to see the sun once again, but the wolves won't go easy once you've fed them It's been a long time trying to forget the lying and the things they promised me But if I'm prone to shortcoming, who am I meant to be? Incompetent or a victory, is there still a home for me? Is there still a home for me? I longed to be wholesome as I made my way, as the darkness wrapped its strong arms around my faith I was hoping to see the sun once again, and how you were there keeping the hungry wolves at bay I've been a long time coming and you've been calling day and night Though I've been wanderin' on these roads before light, every road before me leads back to your side

Lavender wine The sun is up but things are not alright Wildflowers at my bedside seen my colors run 'til half-past midnight With the curtains drawn, I'll hide away, be momentarily gone Will you search for me? Will you shelter me? Will you? Will you? Chicory eyes The sun is down but in my dreams, you're alive The bitterness within my mind had never seen real love until you on whom I relied But now the curtains are drawn I can't find my way, but I know you're around So will you search for me? Will you shelter me? Will you? Will you? Will you? Will you? Falling now - will I be caught by you? 'Cause fast asleep there is only you In my dreams, you've found me too

about

Dear listeners,

When I was writing and arranging my album, When I'm Home, a few of the songs were unimaginably special to me. "Wolves", the tenth track of the album, is a song that I had written to represent in part my faith life as well as how I perceive my relationship with myself. I used this song as a foundation for the story arch of the entire album. "Wolves" was also a song that, by my own painstaking ability to procrastinate, did not have the necessary production time to become what I truly needed it to be. In short, the album version falls very short of my expectations. I knew that this song (with as dear as it is to me) deserved a better arrangement and much more love and effort.

I reached out to Daniel Blake, a local music engineer and producer, to help rebuild this song into what you will hear on the Alternate Version. My cousin Eric Harvey lent us his beautiful fiddle for this arrangement, which is something that I would have done on the entire album had I really considered it at the time. (This is what happens when you make an entire album in six months by yourself!)

While working with Daniel in the studio, I also decided to have him remix the most popular song from the album - "Lavender Wine". LW has seen no shortage of love from friends, family, and fans ... yet still, I imagined the song to be more stripped back than what I made of it. Daniel took all of the stems (or puzzle pieces, as I refer to them) from my original album version and mixed them into this dreamy, atmospheric experience that I appropriately deemed the Light Version.

I decided to release these new versions together as a Side A and Side B single -- and I hope you all enjoy these two songs as much as I do. I finally feel that the "When I'm Home" era of Lounna can come to a fulfilling end as I move onward into bigger things.

Much love to all,
Brenna (Lounna) x
